At ByteCast, your privacy is important to us. We design our app to minimize data collection and maximize your control. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

1. Data We Collect

• During sign-in, we collect your name, email address, and Google avatar when you authenticate.
• We collect app usage data for analytics purposes to improve our service.
• If you choose to subscribe to Pro features, we collect billing information solely for subscription management.
• We store Bytecasts (summaries, transcripts, audio) that you generate to improve reuse and performance.
• We track usage (e.g. number of Bytecasts) to enforce limits and understand user behavior.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide podcast generation, voice synthesis, and summaries based on your queries.
• To manage your subscription and feature access (free vs Pro).
• To improve our app through analytics and usage patterns.
• To personalize your experience (e.g. voice style, history, regional preferences).
• To authenticate your identity and maintain your user profile.

3. Data Storage & Security

• All user profile data, audio, summaries, and transcripts are securely stored in our Supabase backend.
• Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
• We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
• Analytics data is collected in aggregate and used to improve the app experience.

4. Third-Party Services

• We use Google authentication services to verify user identity.
• We use Supabase for backend services and data storage.
• We use Unreal Speech for voice synthesis and Gemini/Brave Search APIs for content generation.
• We use posthog for analytics.

5. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your stored data (e.g., saved Bytecasts, profile information) at any time by contacting us at karthikdechiraju@gmail.com.

6. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Major changes will be communicated in-app.
